H&S Insurance With Deductible
Not many insurance companies offer this type of H&S insurance. Deductible is the fixed amount that you MUST pay for a medical bill. For example, if you have a RM10, 000 medical bill and your insurance has a RM2, 000 deductible, you must pay RM2, 000 from your own pocket and then the insurance company will pay the balance of RM8, 000.
Advantage: (i) Cheaper premium With the same amount of Annual Limit (for example RM60, 000), deductible H&S insurance is about 30 - 50% cheaper than those without deductible.
Disadvantage: (i) Claim risk Selecting higher deductible is one way to reduce your premium. However, you must consider your ability of paying the fixed amount of deductible in the event of an accident.
